Who Leads the Church?
Jesus is the head of His church (Ephesians 1:22-23). He communicates a structure in His word for us to follow (Ephesians 4:11-13). Specifically each congregation is to have elders to guide and assure that the teachings are according to God's word and to oversee the spiritual wellbeing of the members (Acts 14:23, 1 Timothy 5:22).
God has provided specific qualifications for elders (1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Peter 5:1-4). In addition, you will find deacons (1 Timothy 3:8-13) and other members that teach, preach, and serve as their talents are developed.
Here at Oceanview, we follow the Biblical authority of leadership as found in the New Testament by the Apostles. We are blessed to have several Elders and Deacons who serve our congregation and help provide for us physically and spiritually.

"Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls and will give an account for their work. Let them do this with joy and not with complaints, for this would be no advantage for you." — Hebrews 13:7
